Witch

I had a character in mind with red hair who wears a purple/blue dress. I wanted my character to look seductive with how she wears and how she looks at the viewer. I was debating whether or not I should have her hair wrap around the horns to make her look more interesting, but I am glad I did it!

WIP

It's still work in progress... need to add more details (especially the hand) and fix some areas... I finally got to use some watercolor textures that I made few days ago, and they are actually working well in my drawings lately :)

I have been looking at a lot of Japanese illustrators and I love how they use bold colors and trigger emotional response. I think there are a lot of talented artists who can technically draw well, but I prefer drawings with emotion and style. Hopefully, I can be one of those artists...

Experimenting.....

Due to possible snow storm here in Savannah, my classes are cancelled for today and tomorrow which means all classes will be behind schedule. :((

The good news is that since I have no homework to do, I decided to paint a new face! I also made a lot of watercolor textures for later use which was a lot of fun!

Drawing of the day

I am so into drawing people these days and painting over my old drawings digitally. Here is another portrait that I did today!

Painting over my old illustration

I painted over a drawing that I did a very long time ago! Again, I had a lot of fun with watercolor textures, and it was a chance to see how much I improved my painting skills! I posted a process that shows how I transformed my old illustration.

Another drawing

I had a lot of fun with watercolor textures in the previous drawing that I did another drawing using a similar technique. I used the sketch that I did about a week ago and painted over digitally using Photoshop. I feel like I am getting better in drawing portraits in general, but there are still a lot of things to learn from people around me :)

Drawings of the day

Inspired by Yoshitaka Amano, I did very quick sketches in the afternoon and colored them using watercolor. I tried to become a bit more experimental in my sketches by applying thicker layers of primary colors. I also liked the idea of one of my sketches that I took the photo of it and worked digitally using Photoshop. I call the piece 'Overflowing of stars,' and it is still a work in progress :)

I have been using this palette since I was middle school, and watercolor has become my favorite medium since then :)
